The Career Development Office (CDO) at IMDC proudly celebrated its 4th anniversary with a thought-provoking seminar titled “Exploring Careers in Global Health – A WHO Perspective.” The session featured the distinguished Dr. Qaesar Nazeer (MBBS, MCPS, MSc Disaster Medicine (Italy), MPH, Member Royal Society of Public Health UK), who currently serves as National Program Lead Operations and *National Technical Officer at WHO Pakistan, Islamabad Office.

Dr. Nazeer delivered an inspiring talk on global health career opportunities, WHO’s initiatives in Pakistan, and the wide scope of non-clinical roles in policy, research, and public health. He also guided students on internship, fellowship, and job applications, providing clarity on the pathways to joining WHO.

A highlight of the anniversary celebration was a presentation by Khushi Nisar, a passionate CDO intern, who eloquently shared “What We Do at CDO and What We Have Achieved So Far.” Her presentation reflected the journey of CDO, showcasing its impact on students’ professional development and the legacy it continues to build through mentorship and opportunities.

Adding to the spirit of the day, VC Prof. Muhammad Aslam commended the vision of CDO, while Mr. Yasir Khan Niazi (CEO GAK & Patron-in-Chief) praised Prof. Dr. Iram Iqbal for her leadership and congratulated the Trailblazers (CDO interns) for their dedication and innovation.

The event concluded with a joyful cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing four years of excellence, growth, and empowerment. The atmosphere was filled with celebration, laughter, and heartfelt appreciation for how far CDO has come—and the promise of an even brighter future.
