SPEAKER : DR. Abdul Samad Khan Abdul Samad Khan is currently working as a Professor of Dental Biomaterials at the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences, College of Dentistry, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He did his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 1999 from Nishtar Medical College, Multan; in 2005, he did his M.Sc. Dental Materials with Distinction at the Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), UK, and got a scholarship from there and completed his Ph.D. in 2009 at QMUL, UK. He worked as a Research Associate at Doxa AB, Sweden. In 2010, he returned to Pakistan and joined the Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Biomedical Materials, COMSATS University Lahore, and established first-ever Dental Material Research Group. In 2013–2014, he did a Postdoctoral Associateship at the University of Sheffield, UK. He was awarded FHEA in 2021 and FDSRCPS Glasgow in 2022. He has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 15 book chapters, and received multiple US and Pakistan Patents. He has received research grants from national and international funding organizations. He was a focal person of HEC, Pakistan, for the subject of Dentistry. His research is driven by several different approaches, mainly the synthesis and characterization of resin-based composites and adhesives based on bioactive nanomaterials.
